FRNConf2016-160 FRNConf2016-239 FRNConf2016-153

The Furniture Re-use Network's Annual Conference is one of the highlights of our year bringing together professionals from the charitable furniture re-use sector as well as practical leaders and decision-makers in local and national government, retailers, waste companies, universities and research facilities along with the volunteers and shop floor staff who work at the 'sharp end' of the organisations.

Furniture Re-use Network members are charities and social enterprises working with social and environmental aims. They do this to reduce poverty by helping households in need access furniture, white goods and other household items at affordable prices. In addition, we support re-use charities in providing training and work placement opportunities for people who are socially excluded from education, training and employment.

The FRN Annual Conference is the conference for the re-use sector professional who wants to develop strategies using re-use initiatives, wants to learn more from the re-use sector experts and those experienced in working on reuse.

FRN Annual Conference 2017 - Adapting Through Change

Chesford Grange Hotel. Kenilworth, Warwick, CV8 2LD

It has been very inspiring. There is so much knowledge and best practice out there. I have learnt a lot and have made some really useful contacts.

Colin Church was a fantastic speaker and talking about something very useful and prescient for the sector.

Shaun England was so passionate in his organisation, and with what he has achieved lets me know anything is possible with the right attitude and willingness.

The title for the Annual Conference 2017 was a reference to the turbulent climate furniture re-use organisations operate it. With result of the Brexit referendum and the disruption that will almost certainly cause, the re-use sector is once again having to adapt to both survive and thrive. As the national network, we are looking to stay ahead of the curve and are watching the horizon for potential threats and help steer our members through the choppy waters.

Both days provided expert opinion on the sector and where it might be in the future. A mix of industry leading speakers will inform on a range of current topics, from a panel discussion on the future of re-use in the UK, to how to improve local engagement within your community.
